What is a Systematic Review?
A systematic review is a literature review with distinguishing features that set it apart from other review papers:
- Clearly stated research question, usually framed using PICO
- Explicitly stated search strategy including search terms and databases used in the search
- Clearly defined inclusion and exclusion criteria for selecting the studies under review
- Synthesis of all the available evidence on a topic
